DEMOLITION DERBY
SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 18TH
GENERAL RULES
1) All cars must go through inspection at tech pad no later than 6:30 PM. After car is approved it will be taken directly to a designated area in the infield where it will remain untouched until time of Derby.
2) All participants must be at least 16 years old and anyone under the age of 18 must have a release form signed by parents. Derby is open to either male or female participants.
3) No passengers will be allowed in derby car.
4) Anyone under the influence of drugs of alcohol will not be permitted to run the derby and will be reported to the police officer on duty.
5) Any disorderly conduct by driver or crew is grounds for disqualification. Physically touching any official by a driver or crew is automatic disqualification and we will be handled by the police officer on duty.
6) If a driver has complaints he must do so alone. Official’s decision is FINAL.
7) Hitting in drivers door is not permitted and is grounds for disqualification.
8) This is an aggressive derby and contact must be made every 45 seconds. Love taps are not considered contacts. No sand bagging and anyone found do this will be removed from the derby and disqualified.
9) All drivers must attend the driver's meeting at the tech pad at the beginning of intermission. 10) The Demolition Derby at Houston Raceway Park is a family entertainment attraction and disruptive/malicious behavior will not be tolerated at any time.

General Demolition Derby Car Rules at Houston Raceway Park
1) Car must be ’89 or newer 4 or 6 cylinder, Front Wheel Drive
2) Must have seat belt and must be worn during derby (lap belt only OK).
3) All glass and chrome must be removed from car. Both passenger compartment and trunk must be clean and free of all debris.
4) No Welding- except as specified in these rules for safety.
5) Doors, Hood and Trunk- Must be chained. No parts or all thread may be welded to the frame. Hood and trunk may not be welded in any way.
6) Gas Tank- to remain in stock location.
7) Battery- may be moved anywhere under the hood or may be placed in the passenger floorboard but must be covered with metal and securely fastened through the floorboard with 2 straps.
8) Inside Bars- 1 bar across steering column from pillar A to pillar A. 1 bar behind driver from pillar B to pillar B.
9) Drivers Door- Drivers door and front passenger door must have a pipe or plate (max 12" plate) either bolted, foamed in, or welded to it.
10) Radiator- must remain in stock location.
11) Hood- must have holes on each side for fire extinguishers.
12) Bumper- may be chained but not welded.
13) Tires and Wheels- must be stock. No filled tires. No mud grips. Tubes are allowed.
14) Wheel Wells- must remain in stock location with no trimming of any kind.
15) Springs- must remain stock, no spacers, no changing of ride height.
16) Transmission Coolers- no coolers or lines allowed inside of car.
17) Floor Shifter- OK
18) Motor Mounts- may be chained, may be welded or may be strapped down.
19) Safety equipment- seat belts must be worn at all times, a crash helmet with full face shield must be worn at all times, and a fire retardant suit is recommended, not mandatory.

HOUSTON RACEWAY PARKDEMOLITION DERBYENTRY AND PURSE INFORMATION ENTRY FEE FOR THIS DERBY IS $45.00 Early Entry is recommended if you want to run a specific number. We are accepting the first 40 cars, only.
