Demolition Derby, Fireworks Show to cap off Texas Outlaw Fireworks ASCS Sprint Car Nationals this Summer
Baytown (Feb. 16)- Officials with Houston Raceway Park announced today the addition of a Demolition Derby to the annual Texas Outlaw Fireworks ASCS Sprint Car Nationals, June 19th. The Demolition Derby, which will take place in the infield of the Speedway, will top off a full night of high octane racing on the fastest ¼ mile high-banked dirt oval Speedway in Southeast Texas.
The annual Texas Outlaw Fireworks ASCS Sprint Car Nationals, already one of the most popular events on the 2010 racing calendar, will feature the outlawed-winged Sprints of the American Sprint Car Series Gulf South Region, an explosive Fireworks presentation, and now a smash and crash Demolition Derby.
"Our team at Houston Raceway Park continues to create exciting events and additions to our racing schedule to retain our growing fan base and attract new ones to the sport of Dirt racing," said Seth Angel, HRP General Manager. "The Demolition Derby is sure to be a fan favorite at our Texas Outlaw Fireworks night. Sprint Cars, a Demolition derby, and Fireworks, it just doesn't get any better than this."
Race officials have also confirmed that Seth Angel will be participating in the Demolition Derby in his Houston Raceway Park sponsored Ford bodied entry. Participants wishing to compete in the Demolition Derby need to download the registration form, general/class rules under the "Speedway" tab at http://www.houstonraceway.com/.
Spectator Gates open Saturday, June 19th, at 6:00pm with green flag racing beginning at 7:00pm. Racers will be competing in three classes: ASCS Gulf South Sprints, ASCS mini-Sprints, & the Texana Classic Dwarfs. The Demolition Derby will start the halftime activities followed by a $20,000 Fireworks show, courtesy of Texas Outlaw Fireworks, and the A-main feature races to conclude the evening schedule.
